Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy

The craniosacral system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. It extends from the bones of the skull, face and mouth, which make up the cranium, down to the sacrum, or tailbone area.

CranioSacral Therapy is a light touch method of identification and correction that promotes your own natural healing mechanisms to release the negative effects of stress on your central nervous system. The release of these negative energies further enables your overall health to improve and resist illness.

CranioSacral Therapy is performed on a fully clothed individual. The therapist uses a light touch – typically no more than the weight of a nickel or the light weight of your fingertip on your closed eyelid – to monitor the rhythm of the craniosacral system to detect potential restrictions and imbalances. The therapist may then use delicate manual techniques to release those problem areas and relieve undue pressure on the brain and spinal cord.

Emily is able to execute these same manual techniques energetically (without touching you) and from a remote location to accomplish the same releases and healing your body requires.  She believes that we are each born with all of the knowledge and intuition we require to accomplish everything we wish.  CranioSacral Therapy teaches that within each of us there exists an innate wisdom that knows who we are, what makes us function and what is needed to heal ourselves.

SomatoEmotional Release

While CranioSacral Therapy releases restrictions in body tissues, sometimes a release of emotional energy is necessary to fully discharge a trauma. For example, when a physical injury seems to plague you long after the wound has healed.  Initially we may adapt to a trauma but over time our bodies lose this ability. This is when symptoms and dysfunctions start to appear and become difficult for us to suppress or ignore.

Performing SomatoEmotional Release, a therapist uses various dialoguing techniques to guide the client through an encounter with long-held emotions, identify the problem and release it. Once complete, the body is free to re-establish to its best levels of functioning.
